Did you know that this rum cocktail was extremely popular in New Orleans? It became a bit of an epic cocktail icon... Pat O’Brien created the Hurricane because he wanted to get rid of the rum he was forced to buy from his liquor distributor before he could get more scotch and whisky... sounds like a great job to us!
25ml Lime Juice
25ml Passion Fruit Syrup
25ml Orange juice
Shake all ingredients with ice until nearly fully dissolved. Pour into a hurricane glass filled with crushed ice and garnish with an orange slice and cocktail cherry.
The piña colada was first created way back in 1954... we can't imagine what they were drinking in 1953 and earlier? Now known as a summer staple, it was first made up of a fruity blend of rum, coconut cream and pineapple juice and boom... the rest is history!
50ml Half & Half
12.5ml Fig Liqueur
Shake all ingredients first with ice, strain from the ice and shake again. Dirty pour and garnish with a pineapple leaf and grated nut meg.
The effects of this drink are the reasoning behind its name – even back in the 1900s it was considered so strong that bartenders were only allowed to serve two per person! Zombies have been around since the 1930s and were created by Donn Beach, who invested the drink for a customer who was complaining about a bad hangover so he served him up the ultimate hair-of-the-dog.
25ml White Rum
25ml Lime Juice
100ml Pineapple Juice
1 tsp Grenadine
Shake the rums and fruit juices in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a hurricane glass with ice, then slowly pour in the grenadine to colour the drink. Garnish with pineapple and a cherry.
